Depending on your college, you may need to jump through a few hoops before you can start building hoop houses. Some administrations may require a proposal be submitted to the right department at your school, or a formal lease agreement may be necessary. It works to your benefit to establish a serious partnership with a faculty member or group of faculty and staff at your school. Adding this person or group’s insight, experience, and potential administrative influence really strengthens your pitch. The garden or farm could have strong curricular ties to many departments, so consider working with faculty who have a strong personal and professional interest in your space.
